day4

Today I was ambushed by a group of happy school children exchanging the names of schools they got into but
I and three other school friends could not join in with the chat. I also handed in my animation of Romeo and Juliet that I did last night with my best mate Stan. It is a great film, we made it with all my lego men and I'm going to try and upload on to youtube. Dad called to find out why I didn't get a place, and it is simply because I live to far away. I am now awaiting to here what schools I can have, if any...........

Had your parents applied on your behalf to the local state school, in your catchment area, you would have been welcomed with open arms. You seem to be a talented and intelligent boy.

His parents did apply on his behalf to the local state school, in his catchment area but it is over-subscribed.

I feel bad for you Mac, this sucks. I had high hopes for the Bridge offering places to musically talented children from their local area - and having heard you play there can't be many around like you. I hope you persuade them to let you in. One day they will deeply regret having turned you down, even if you never go to school there.

Hi Mac, we know what you're going through and how tough it is. My advice is to let your mum and dad take the strain (they can handle it !!). Doing the blog is a great idea, have fun with it, and I hope it helps to get you what you want and fully deserve.
Maybe it will also help to highlight the lack of secondary school places for boys in that little known lost backwater of London known as E9.

Hi Mac, Cool blog. We're all rooting for you here in Hitchin and I really belive that you'll get something great in the end. Glad Pearl sent her comments. Only depressed that I didn't correct her rubbish spelling and grammer before she sent it off. I'd like to assure any parents thinking of moving out of London to the burbs (well Hertfordshire) that most children out here CAN spell - (so can Pearl when she trys - that was for Pearl.) Hope we see you soon. Keep up the blog.

Hello Mac,

Just discovered your blog today. Did you put your animation on YouTube? If so, do you have a link?
