I came home from school today only to find out the bad news that the school I had wished to go to had not given me a place. I had wanted to go to a local school ever since I heard of it. I thought it would be the perfect place for me to express my love of music. I play violin, piano, drums and the guitar. I know that everyone can't get the school that they want but I had a lot of hope and I felt disappointed when I found I had no school to go to because most of my friends got the schools that they wanted. If I had got in I would be among friends from my school and from other primary schools across hackney.

Poor Mac. I don't think it should be too much to ask to be able to go to your local community school. It seems we have to become very religious in order to guarantee a place in a school close to where we live. Have you tried religion Mac? It doesn't really matter which one as long as the school is good and you can sound like you really believe. Whichever school you go to however, it will be a very lucky establishment!

iam sorry to hear that you didn't get the secondary school you wanted to. I am sure it is not about Hackney not loving you as they only really know your name and that you want to go to their school. If they knew you for real they would definitely give you a place.

Good luck on appeal and I'm sure you will get there.

May be you're just too musical for them and you'll shame them with your talent.

On the other hand think what a cool time you could have not going to school. We could have a party at your house every day instead of going to school. I'm sure your mum
won't mind us all coming round!

It is a real shame that yet again the Learning Trust has failed to provide local schools for children in E9.

The Bridge Academy plans to specialise in music and maths and would benefit from your enormous talents. Let's hope the Learning Trust sees the light.

We're routing for ya Mac - from the other side of the Atlantic... You have the kind of talent that no school can teach.. their loss not yours...! But i'm confident everything will work out for the best in the end..

Keep up the good work..

Love the blog...!

Mac - There must be a space for you at Bridge Academy - Just think how foolish Hackney will feel in a few years time when one of the worlds brightest stars tells how his local authority didn't want to give him a chance !
You're a star mac - so you will Shine through

Hi Mac this is ur coz Benny. When i read your blog i was deeply moved. I think ur a great wee guy and a dude! My opinion on this business (of u not being allowed to go to ur chosen skool) is that it is unfair and hypocritical. If u want to talk to me about this u can phone me on my home phone. Dont give up.

Dear Mac,

I am so sorry to hear about this! All the other comments say this but remember, it's their loss not yours! You are a talented, creative boy and will do well wherever you go. Good luck and I look forward to hearing about a better outcome.

Dear Mac

A few things you could do:

kidnap a child with a school place you want, pretend to be them and take their place;

forge a letter offering you a place and just turn up on the first day in uniform.

organise all your class mates to refuse to leave Bridge until they give you a place

pretend you're being beaten by your parents and they will feel sorry for you and give you a place

celebrate that you're too special for a Hackney school

Or just chill out, do nothing and a perfect school will still come your way.

Good luck!

If I were a headteacher you'd be exactly the sort of pupil I'd want to have in my school.
Don't lose heart - I'm sure it will all come good in the end.

what a bunch of idiots and losers those education pen-pushing paper-shufflers must be. When someone like you Mac (ie special and talented) doesn't get grabbed by each and every local school then the world has gone mad and the loonies are running the asylum.
Still, as others have pointed out, not going to school is always and option - you could spend your time developing your rock band, writing James Bond film scripts and other fun stuff. Those schools will have egg all over their faces when they discover one day that they could have had someone as cool as you at their school and passed up the opportunity. Losers!

As all the other comments have said - the world recognises that you are indeed special, you are exceedingly clever, talented and mature beyond your years - if the local schools cannot recognise this, it will indeed be their loss. Perhaps Fate has other plans for you, a school were you will be appreciated and allowed to Shine. Don't lose heart, there are excellent schools in Dorset and Somerset that excel in music and would welcome your abilities and we'd love you to live near us! Cool blog!

Hey Mac. I really don't get it. You're a brilliant student. I have been teaching you French for the past 5 months and you have showed me how bright you are. You are a hard-working person, you love studying and I can't understand how this situation is possible.

I really hope something will turn up. Bonne chance et bravo pour ton blog. N'abandonne pas. Loic.
